I'm a proud member of an organization, Portland Mamas, Inc. It's an organization for women/mothers in the area who work from home. 95% of us have home offices AND children.
Our speakers this month were Krista Colvin, owner, Organize in Style LLC and Hiromi Ogawa, president, hiromi ogawa architects The meeting was a lively discussion as members
Krista Colvin and Hiromi Ogawa provided helpful hints for organizing and
renovating your surroundings through smart design. Krista presented
her expertise from a
professional organizer’s perspective, then Hiromi
gave us the insider’s guide to navigating through a renovation
.
I came away from the meeting inspired in my own OCD way to clear out the piles of fabric in my office as well as clutter I only need once a year, if that. It was liberating! I've been in a great mood all week and feeling quite productive!
Pictured is my desk -- this is my entire office space at the end of the work day. The only toys permitted are puzzles and that's it! No more piles, no more projects in waiting.
The armoir is a piece I've had for ten years or so. It was purchased in Santa Fe as a display piece for my former art gallery. My husband renovated it to have a pull out tray for the keyboard and put my flat screen monitor on a swing arm to allow me access to the space behind for my tools of the trade. It's perfect for me.
