I have to admit it. High School Musical - the stage version, not the movie - was FANTASTIC. It wasn't an inexpensive adventure, but well worth it. I refused to pay what the schools wanted for tickets. Fundraiser or not, I disliked the movie so much that I wasn't about to pay $100 for tickets - EACH.

Our son is in a stage of nasty fits to express frustration and anger. Doesn't that sound like a civilized way to describe it? I thought so. I'm sort of showing off. I don't deal with it nearly as civilized. Toys are all going up high in time outs. It helps, but most of all - it feels like I've done something with my snowballing anger.

With a bigger television some movies are getting a renewed interest in our home. A pile of ironing awaited me and I needed a distraction. On-Demand - free movies - TCM - Anchors Aweigh with Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra. Even though the billing had Frank Sinatra ahead of Gene Kelly - it was definitely Gene Kelly's movie.

The day started at 7:00, 68 degrees. It warmed up quickly. We had a bit of time to enjoy the backyard filled with the scent of lilacs. Each Spring I look forward to seeing how many sprays of lilacs are preparing to burst open on the perfect day - usually around Mother's Day. It was one of my storybook mornings.

Iron Man was a fun, well-written movie. Robert Downey Jr. was endearing, believable and enjoyable. We both really enjoyed this movie. Great action, adventurous and plausible plot.

The price of flour has gone up so much that a $3.50 loaf of artisan breads is now 30% smaller. I'm not wasting any of it. Because it doesn't last long, the final third of of the loaf is usually getting stiff by day 3. I give it one last opportunity to be tasty by nuking it for 40 seconds. This is a one shot deal. You can do it one time and then it becomes leather. It is also only good for toast or croutons at this point.

I heard this story this evening.
"You look hungry - yes you do.
I can feed you.
Here, I have something you might like.
It's orange and skinny.
Here - eat it.
OK - now chew. Chew. CHEW IT!
There, you like it.
I see it in your tummy.

Our daughter has started this game in the car with her brother, "who can go the longest without talking."
I love this game, I must say. They are both really good at it.
