I had the task tonight of purchasing a much overdue bathing suit. The last time I purchased a suit my mother was still alive and joined in the adventure at Nordstrom in Mission Viejo. That was five years ago. My suit has gone through numerous "nearing the goal weight" cycles, another child, more breastfeeding. The poor suit has served me well. But my daughter so tactfully pointed out, "Mommy (she uses this term when being sweet), I think your suit has shrunk and gotten tired. You may need a new one that won't shrink."

I can barely type. My hands are shaking and no alcohol was involved. It's been my birthday all day. Let me tell you how it went down.

We were taking photos of the current state of the fairy garden. It's really coming in. Our daughter is concerned by the large, enthusiastic plant in the lower left corner. Our fear is that it is a tree of some sort.
There really isn't a lot of room for a tree of any type here.

Today I was sporting my "Cake or Death" t-shirt after enjoying Eddie Izzard last night. My husband worked terribly hard to secure good seats to the sold out event. Around 10 a.m. we received the call from the box office that a few tickets had been put back into circulation at face value. Row F - That's A, B, C, D, E, F - sixth row (I don't count the two rows of folding chairs on the floor). Issue price! AMAZING! Happy Birthday to me. He even had the sitter at the ready, just in case these tickets came through. He's wonderful.

This world of HD is giving a new life to old movies in this house. Our children have seen the beginning of the Wizard of Oz a dozen times. It is always on network and starts at 8. This means they barely get to the poppies before it's time for bed.

I ran across a treasure at Powell's book store the other day. I was desperate for a new biography and wanted something light after just finishing, Helen Keller's full story. Powell's organizes their biographies by topic. I'm used to B&N grouping them in one section to make it easy for me. I headed for the topics I enjoy when I need something light - Film and Dance.

We had a sitter and a plan, we wanted to see Hancock. We're so glad we did. We really enjoy Will Smith, Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman. They were all perfectly cast. What a fun movie. We made a couple of guesses at some facts and were both right. That's all I'll say.
