The previews for the second one did it. We had to add the first to the Netflix list. I'm glad we didn't see it in a theater, but that's because we aren't big on these types of fantasy films. It was predictable, but fun. I can see why it's become someone of a cult classic in the works, but I have to admit I didn't stay with it until the end.

We discovered, pardon the pun, a pearl today in The Pearl. It's a new gallery. Forgive me - we were so caught off guard by the wonderful art we didn't pick up a card. It's on 12th between Glisan and Hoyt. It isn't more than a couple of weeks old and has an open warehouse feel. This gallery has a collection of eye catching sculptures. The front window had a large ceramic head with bunny ears and a rhino horn. You really can't miss it. How can you not be curious about such an opening act?

Sometimes it's like opening a present when I download the photos after our daughter has had the camera on an off over a few days. I never know what she'll photograph or why. This day's focus seemed to have been our home. She does this a lot because she's here a lot entertaining herself in an amazing way. Her imagination floors me.

It was 103 today. Yes, we have AC. Yes we run it enthusiastically, but we still needed simply get out of the house. We took four children to see, "Space Chimps." The children were losing their minds to see this movie. We were grateful to find it at our local bargain theater. That took the sting out of this movie.

Richard Todd Adams made and saved the night. His performance as "The Phantom" outshined Robert Guillaume in the same role. I did not have the pleasure of seeing Michael Crawford. I missed it by two months. Gerard Butler did a fine job in the movie, but his performance did not match that of either leading ladies.
Richard Todd Adams brought back what this is about - the Phantom! He did slightly nuts well. He really conveyed the dementia brought on by his afflictions. The passion, the emotion - it was his show.

Last night was a long night. I had a project launch go kaplooey and had to work to remedy for hours off the clock last night. The children seemed to figure out that I really needed a team effort while I moused my little heart out for the next five hours. They took it upon themselves to "take care of the kitchen" for me.
