When we moved to Oregon our new 503 number had a long-standing previous owner: Nyssa Tractor Salvage. We learned this quickly on sunny days when the nicest people would call looking for their favorite tractor resource. That was four years ago. We still get calls on sunny days, each spring and throughout summer from the nicest people in surrounding farm areas throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana.
We have the number by each phone to send them to the correct person that can help them track down that elusive or rare tractor part. Nyssa has nice and helpful people to match their nice customers. They all have this peaceful, polite way of speaking that just makes you want to either help them or do business with them. We don't mind the calls, really. We even return the occasional voice mail message left in error.
Our guess is that these customers have the old number, our number, written in the doorways of their barns, garages and in other permanent areas.
I called Judy at Nyssa the other day to ask if she had any stickers she could send to the children since, as a family, we have become a bit invested in Nyssa Tractor Salvage. Judy was so sweet on the phone and mentioned calendars.
Yesterday a box arrived. The box used to contain motor air filters and now was filled with Nyssa items: calendars, pads, pens and two official Nyssa Tractor hats - real tractor/farmer type hats. The children are THRILLED! They love telling anyone about Nyssa and their kindness.
Thanks Judy and all at Nyssa.
