On his own, our near five year old wanted to write a name poem for his sister. She had done it for all of us and he liked the words chose.
He forgot to add the word "mean" next to never, but not bad. They go from this to, "I'm never, ever, ever in the whole wide world talking to you AGAIN POOP HEAD!"
This made her night; mine, too.
I don't have a lot of thoughts in my head today. It's been a very busy couple of weeks filled with great projects and clients and the struggle to get outside as often as possible to enjoy gorgeous days.
The days are filled with rainy mornings and sunny afternoons. Today included a gentle breeze to ensure blue skies.
This was what our daughter came up with today. It's what I've been hearing in my head each day to get it all done.
I was greeted by two smiling faces this morning. One belonging to our daughter and one to Princess Emily. I love the pattern on her robe.
Our daughter awakened a bit before her alarm and started on this before I joined her.
While waiting for me to feed the pets and get her breakfast, our daughter drew her breakfast.
Translation: Muffin, OJ, napkin, plate.
Muffin featured is the breakfast muffin. Hmmm. I should have reviewed this recipe first. I rarely use a muffin recipe - just toss it in the BIG MIXER and hope for the best. This batch held together better than usual making for a chewier and nuttier experience. They are denser than a traditional muffin, but hold together well when we have to take them with us to church because we're running late.
We weren't able to be with Uncle Geoff to celebrate his birthday.
The children worked for about a half-hour on this white board party.
I particularly like the labels, streamers and spiky hair on the boys.
This is our new category. I am really enjoying the quick art created in the kitchen on the white board. We use it for quick greeting cards when we didn't mail it in time.
The children draw something for the person and then we are able to email it quickly with a note. It's been a hit with the family - they still like one in the mail too, but they like the spontaneity of the white board.
The markers were a gift from my brother when he came to visit at Thanksgiving. He asked what they would like and laughed when I told him this is all they wanted - dry erase markers and an eraser.
